Polaroid Fotobar. Hit or miss?

Polaroid cameras and prints are very cool–love them. I recently heard of Polaroid Fotobar and have to say that turning my “favorite photos” into polaroid pictures misses the mark for me. Polaroid Fotobar locations are in Florida and seem like a glorified photo print & enlargement store such as Wolf Camera. They mock the layout of a Mac store, but don’t seem all that impressive http://bit.ly/1nUxIFw .

Kurt Cobain’s Death Investigation Re-opened?

Whether you are a Nirvana fan or not I think anyone can appreciate the beautiful portrait of Kurt Cobain photographed by Mark Seliger. The image appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine’s June 2, 1994 issue after Kurt’s apparent suicide.

Kurt Cobain, Kalamazoo, Michigan, 1993
“This was shot two months before he committed suicide. And seemingly getting better and healthier. But I think what’s memorable, for me, was the experience of having him in front of my camera and really seeing the intensity and melancholy behind his eyes. It’s was a great loss and it’s hard to describe how a photograph makes you feel inside. There’s a sadness to it because he was just a lovely person. In regards to the process, it was a 4×5 on a Polaroid negative and then I shot film on the Polaroid negative.”

Four rolls of film were unprocessed in a police evidence room causing the case to be re-opened by Seattle police. You can see a video clip of MTV’s Kurt Loder looking back on the day Kurt Cobain died.
